​Annual Rally

This took place at Redhill Aerodrome, not far from Gatwick Airport on Sunday the 11th June 2017. There were about 150 cars in attendance, of which 48 were SP 250s

There were not only SP 250s but Daimler V8 saloons and many other types of Daimler as well.
Almost more than any other type of classic car, the SP 250s these days come in every shade of colour from white to black and every hue in-between. They sure make a beautiful sight. I doubt that so many SP 250s could be seen together anywhere else in the world.

The famous Russ Carpenter was there with his unconquered dragster. It's powered by the 2.5 litre Daimler engine, but with a few 'adjustments' the engine produces not 140 BHP, but 1400 BHP! Russ won every drag racing category in the USA regardless of engine size and was eventually banned from racing. 0 - 100mph in 1.2 seconds (!!), 66 feet and at 4.5g. The sound of the engine can be heard 5 miles away!.
